The different views from the nearby stars cause the star positions in the constellations to be altered, and this causes many of the familiar constellations to change in various ways. Some constellations change more than others. Some constellations that are composed of distant bright stars change relatively little as the viewpoint changes, and others composed of bright stars at different distances break up entirely.
